Let. General Yusuf Mohamed Karrar SFZ Director receives a delegation from Kassala State – Awad Free Zone Project

The Director General of the Sudanese Free Zones and Markets Co. SFZ Let. General , Yusuf Mohamed Karrar, received in his office on Monday, 7th May, 2018, a delegation from the State of Kassala headed by Eng. Mohamed Saeed Ahmed Mahmoud, Minister of Urban Planning and his accompanying delegation.
The Minister said in a press statement that the visit comes to focus on SFZ experience in establishing, managing and developing free zones in Sudan as a leading company in this field.
SFZ, Director General Yusuf Mohammad Karrar, has appreciated the visit and expressed the company’s readiness to cooperate with Kassala State until the success of Awad Free Zone Project. It is worth mentioning that the delegation of the Kassala State headed by the Minister of Urban Planning paid a field visit to Garri Free Zone GFZ on Sunday, 6th May, 2018 . The meeting with Free Zones Department and the presentation have explained the process and stages of GFZ developments.
The delegation also toured GFZ investment facilities, including commercial, industrial, service and related facilities such as customs and banking services. The Representative of the SFZ Director, Engr. Hamdan Khalifa, Free Zones Department Manager has welcomed the delegation. The visiting delegation has expressed their keen readiness to start Awad Free Zone in Kassala state and the possibility of SFZ to take over the operation side.
It is worth mentioning that Mr. Montasir Khalid Al-Siddiq, Representative of the Federal Ministry of Investment, the National Council for Free Zones, has accompanied the visiting delegation .
